Will Windows 7 RC run on my laptop?

Still using a budget laptop from 4 years ago. All I really do is surf the web.

Will it install? Yes. Will it run? . . .Not very well. There don't seem to be any Win7 drivers for the Xpress 200M, and I don't think thats a DX9C IGP either. So that'll mean no pretty GUI effects right out the gate.

Your CPU exceeds the 1Ghz minimum, but your memory is below the minimum of 1GB. I bet you could upgrade the RAM to 1GB without too much trouble, but Windows 7 would probably run pretty shoddily on that system. I'd stick with XP or Linux.

Installed. Actually runs better than my year old XP install, albeit with most of the fancy visuals turned off. I'm not a huge fan of the "Show Desktop" button being moved.

The 200M should do Aero just fine. Go to Windows Updates and verify if an updated driver is there. After that run WinSAT and it will enable it for you.
