Will Win7 pc detect WinXP HD?

Hi everyone, I've got a used WinXP internal sata hard drive laying around and I'm curious if it will run and be detected in my Windows 7 rig? Or will it simply not be recognized by the Win7 OS?

It would be nice to have that work...and I have some files that would be nice to retrieve from the old XP hard drive....but I don't even know what to expect if I installed it in a Win 7 machine. 😀

Ok, thanks for any help or tips. 🙂

When you use the words "recognised" or "detected", if you mean that Win7 will be able to read/write the contents of that drive, yes it will, as long as the drive still works.

Well, aslong as it is an SATA drive,if it's oldschool IDE it's gonna be tough, you will have to find an adaptor.

Thanks for the help everyone. 🙂 I'm just gonna install the hard drive and see what happens.:awe:

Hopefully it will show up in the Computer window in Windows 7 and I can access it right away. Feel free to add any other ideas - I really appreciate them!
