Will Win XP Pro and Office 97 Pro happily co-exist?

Is anyone successfully using Windows XP Pro with MS Office 97 Pro?

My new machine arrived yesterday and I don't want to take any chances
setting it up. I know that if you upgrade to Win XP, from an earlier
version of windows, it's supposed to make the appropriate adjustments via
compatibility mode but, what about a fresh install of Office 97 Pro onto a
new XP installation?

Thanks,
Frank T

I upgraded and am fine, but I was just talking with Apoppin about this the other day and he had no problems installing it on XP. Didn't have to patch or anything.

Im using Office 97 Professional on my laptop with XP pro.
I kinda like the Office 97 better than Office XP, not so many fancy options and buttons!

Thanks for the replies.

The installation went without a hitch. Then I applied all of the SRs and patches, sequentially. Only one patch wouldn't work. XP said that NT wouldn't allow it to access the ODBC files. Not a problem. It runs fine and it just saved me a $290.00 upgrade. :D

Thanks again.

If Microsoft Office 97 wasn't fully compatible with Microsoft Windows XP I would be quite upset. Not surprised but definitely upset.
