Will we need PCI-E v2 in 3 years?

I am going to buy neither a P35, or P45 chipset motherboard. I want to get a P35 since its cheaper and I will likely keep this motherboard for 3 years. Also will be upgrading video cards along the way. Will PCI-E v1 be a bottleneck for mid-range vid cards in 3 years in your opinion?

Yes, PCI-E 2.0 will most likely be mandatory next gen and certainly in 3 years. The P45 can be had for a good price these days- this MSI Neo-F can be had for $90 AR
