depends on how SOS is calculated in teh computer polls, but the fact that they'll probably be ahead of miami in the other two polls means they probably won't drop.

The BCS is composed of two factors, the Human polls (Harris and Coaches). The polls will not penalize Virginia Tech because of Miami's loss. Most pollsters probably don't even remember who Virginia Tech's loss is too, just that now Virginia Tech has less losses then Miami and will rank Virginia Tech in front of Miami.

The computers do remember that Virginia Tech lost to Miami. But, they also remember that Virginia Tech beat Georgia Tech. Overall the result of the Miami game will likely be a wash for Virginia Tech. In the Colley rankings, Virginia Tech actually gains a few ten-thousandths because of the Miami loss, however they will gain a few hundredths for beating Virginia. Other computers may slightly penalize Virginia Tech because of Miami's loss, but it's not likely to be significant. Virginia Tech was already ahead of Miami in 5 of the 7 computers, so Miami dropping won't have a significant effect.

Overall, I'd expect VA Tech to move into 5th, with the Miami loss helping much more then it hurts.

Edit: One more advantage is that Virginia Tech will now get to play Florida State in the championship game, which will help overall.
