Will USB headphones allow me to get sound sans a sound card?

So I'm not sure if this PC doesn't have a sound card or the drivers are just f'ed up--there's no listing under device manager for a sound card, and there's a PCI Device w/o any drivers installed, but there's basically no sound here. Would a pair of USB headphones solve the problem? It doesn't require a working sound card, w/ drivers to perform yes?

AFAIK USB headphones do not require a sound card. I take it you can't just simply look behind the PC to see if there's a sound card? That may explain the PCI device...

Yes the headphones have a built in D->A converter and amplifier so they are technically a sound card by themselves.

Nah there isn't, there are mic and output jacks in front so I'm guessing it's built into the mobo.
