Will upgrading my mobo improve performance?

Hi,
Right now, I am running my GeForce 6800 Ultra on AGP4x, due to the limitations of my motherboard. If I upgrade my motherboard to a one which supports AGP8x, would there be a performance increase in 3D applications and games? If so, by how much?

Well, since the technology isnt there and video cards are no where near using the bandwidth of 8x. You barely wont notice the difference between 4x and 8x agp.

nope, no noticeable difference.

upgrading the mobo solely would not help noticeably.

however, as agp 8x has been out for a long time, i am betting you have a slow cpu, so consider buying new motherboard and cpu -athlon 64?
