Ive been having loads of fun w/my unlocked 1700+.

Right now im running 100x6.0 😛. Will UNDERclocking damage my processor?

But if you aren't it won't hurt anything.
 
There is actually a lower limit on bus speeds. Since your memory stores 1s and 0s on series of capacitors, they must be refreshed periodically to keep their values. That lower limit is still far, far away from your 100Mhz or even 66Mhz though.
 
I guess that could be pretty fun to toy around with: running on a (slow) Ath XP 600 MHz for a week and seeing how slow/choppy everything runs then upping it 1000 MHz or so and remarking how fast it has become!

Actually, Im just having fun. I dont have a serious benchmarking program, but under Norton Systemworks sys info program Ive had the following readings:

standard / overclocked

Intel Pent 233MMX /66 - 44.5

AMD-K6II 450 /100 - 163 (100,2.2v) 188 (112,2.4v)

Pent III 600EB /133 - 313 (133,1.65v) 374 (155,1.80v)

Pent III 700E/100 - 350 (100,1.65v) 482 (133,1.85v)

AMD XP1700+/266 - 320 (100,x6,1.75) 765 (133,x11.5,1.75v) 835 (166,x9.5,1.77v) 845(169,x9.5,1.77v)
