Will UDMA/100 be useful to me anytime soon?

Should I buy an ATA66 hard drive at a good discount, or the same drive at ATA100?

Will there be ANY devices that will make use of this speed in the near future?

Thanks much for clarifying,

Not really. The throughput of the fastest IDE drive currently available will have to double to be limited by ATA/66.

Until hard drives can start providing 100MB/s (or even 66MB/s for that matter) throughput, ATA/100 is little more than marketing ploy. I'm betting that Serial ATA will be around before we ever see a parallel ATA drive do 100MB/s.
