will two 256mb run together?

does anyone try to install two 256mb? will it work?
i had install 2 256mb pc133, but they don't seem to be happy with each other, they frezze up my computet when getting into windows

they 're from the same brand and working individually

try putting them in slot 1 and slot 3...works for some people...but i have two 256mbs on slot 1 and 2 running just fine in win2k.

strange thing happens whenever i install the second 256ra, the cpu temp went up to 50 and over. and they frezze up the system

will there be the problem of my board?
my board is cheap, call DFI AK-75ec

Are they from the same manufacturer? This may be one of those situations where mixing different RAM actually doesn't work. What is your CAS latency set to in the BIOS? Remember that you can only run as fast as your slowest stick, so if you are in fact mixing RAM then make sure both sticks are capable of running at your specified speeds.

I ran into a similar problem. Two ram sticks same brand worked individually but not together. Turned out they were not identical - one was registered and one was not. Same thing could happen if one is buffered and one is not, you get strange errors.

DFI isn't so hot anyways...bought one for sister a few years ago (w/ amd k6-2 400).
It's OK, it's running with 128 fine now... (32, 32, 64) all different brands.

i can install any combo with 128, 62 or 32 but not with the 256
i can even put 3 different brand of 128 pc133 together without any problem

i 'm thinking the problem causing by the dfi's design

Probably a problem with having too many memory banks or something. Have you tried updating your bios?

yea, i have already update to the latest one already
it says solving 3 dimms using pc1333 and ther staff
but don't seem to help anyway

it's used 4 banks
