Will Trump start a war with IRAN in his final weeks as Pres and dump it in Bidens lap as a final FU?

Since he can't declare war, I'd hope that any officer would refuse an unlawful order from the president

I think there's more than a few O types that have a desire for doing liaison work at the Pentagon to the point where they'd make themselves surreptitiously known to be ardent Trump supporters as a way to grease the skids on their ride to a DC posting.

They are the ones who would cross the line toward becoming political tools like Mike Flynn. If anything, there has to be at least a few more of them that would disgrace themselves that way in order to "advance their careers" by violating their oaths and side with the likes of Trump.

From the article linked in the OP:

One defense official says Miller's idea of de-escalation had not been adopted as a formal, approved policy. It took top commanders by surprise, several defense sources said. US Central Command wanted the carrier to stay in the region because of the policy of Iran deterrence.

Deter them from doing what, exactly?

Trump has lost all credibility. The Pentagon will give Trump a big FUK YOU if he wants to start a war with Iran.

Now, if Iran starts a war with us then that is different. I don't see that happening though.

Can't lose what you never had...

Please. Trump renounced the JCPOA, leaving Iran free to do just that. They have a US supplied reactor that uses 20% uranium as fuel.

I was talking about the hijacking of a South Korean tanker- I agree that the nuclear situation is mostly Trump's fault.

So is that problem-

I expect that Trump's wrong headed policy towards Iran will be reversed with the Biden admin. It's stupid as fuck.

Nice dodge. The quote was from anonymous sources, not central command, so there's nobody to ask other than people who repeat it.

No dodge. I was only quoting the article. The OP implied that Trump was taking actions on his own when IAW the article Central Command wanted the Carrier in the area.

Not my issue that you can't follow along.
