Well, Zenmervolt and I conducted an experiment. We posted the same thread at the same time but one had a clear title and the other had an ambiguous title.

ZV: 9 replies /48 views for me. (Detailed title)
HC: 12 replies /86 views for me (Ambiguous title)

Experiment ran a little under 2 hours until the threads dropped pretty far down.

i think a large part of it was that you started this thread, and people usually flock to HC threads. if you start two new threads now, you'll see equal numbers in both i'm sure 😀

It depends on the nature of the forum.

I would like to see you try this in P&N and Highly Techinical as well as here again over a period of several days. The titles should all be somehow relevant to the forum.

Now THAT would be an interesting (and probably entirely meaningless) experiment.
