Will Thoroughbred Processors be Pin-Compatible with Athlon XPs?

That is, will you be able to swap in a thoroughbred on an existing
Athlon XP motherboard, or will a new motherboard be required?

But another question: Assuming you DO do the BIOS update and processor
swap, what's the likelihood that everything will work properly the first
time you boot subsequent to such an upgrade?

 
Assuming that your motherboard is fully compatible (i'm sure many of us remember the problems when upgrading to XP processes when our Motherboards were only 1/2 compatible) you comp should work first time up.
