WIll This Work?

I currently have an Athlon 500MHz with an FIC SD11 (slot a). My motherboard doesnt work with a geforce 2 and I only have $100. I want to buy an Asus K7V but on the webpage it says 550MHz-1GHz. Does this mean it will not work with a 500 MHz chip?
