Antec power supplies are goo, but I don't think I would run a 300w one with your system.

Also, check and see if your power connector is 20 pin or 24 pin on your motherboard.

I've heard people running the mobo with a 20-pin PSU. Are you sure it won't work? I'm not really in the position to buy another PSU...

It should work with a 20-pin as long as the PSU has enough power, and I'm a little bit worried that the SL300 in that case might cut it a bit close. Of course, most of us on AnandTech prefer a good bit of headroom with our PSUs, and an Antec SL300 is probably better than any generic, at any rate.

I'm guessing it would work. I have a friend running an fx51 @ 2.4 GHz and 6800 on a 300w Antec. That said..I would prefer a little more breathing room.

He says it's stable, I don't see how though. I believe that 300w only has something like 15A on the 12V.

That probably isn't the absolute maximum unless it's really old... my SL350 is stated as having 16A on Newegg, but my sticker shows a maximum of 21A, which is contingent upon usage of the other rails.

There is no such thing as an SL380, but Antec's True380 will be great for that. Consider other PSUs that might be a little better, though, unless you're getting it for $40-50.

I won't need a 20-pin to 24-pin adapter, right? Also, I'm getting a SATA drive to go in my system.
