Will this work? (Using Raid 1 to copy data from 1 SSD to another)

Hey all,

Just wondering if the following situation would work. I have 2 SSDs, both 128gb. A C300 and a Samsung 830. I've had the C300 for awhile, and it has my OS on it, along with all my applications.

My motherboard is capable of RAID 1. Would I be able to do a RAID 1 rebuild of my C300 to essentially copy its contents to the Samsung 830, and then essentialyl remove the C300?

Or are things more complicated than that?

I'd like to move the C300 to my laptop and use my 830 in my desktop if possible, but don't want to reformat EVERYTHING in order to do so.

Maybe, it depends on if the onboard software RAID lets you create a mirror without wiping the drives. But why wouldn't you just use a normal imaging tool?

Yep.

Just clone the drive.
