I have the 20 pin motherboard main connector. will it work on my A8V deluxe socket 939 mobo? By the way, does the 20 + 4 pin connector mean that the 4 pin is detachable?

im not worried about a 20 pin psu to 24 pin mobo. I just wondered if this power supply main connector could detach and change to a 20 pin main connector for my mobo. Wondered if this psu was made for both. Thanks anyway.

Yes the extra 4 pins on that particular PSU appear to be detachable. I'd recommend aiming a little higher than Aspire for a quality PSU however.

Some brands to look at: Antec, Enermax, Fortron, OCZ, Seasonic, XClio.

Keep in mind that a PSU with a 24pin connector will work with your motherboard. So long as you don't have anything butted up against your board's ATX connector the extra 4 pins will just sit there overhanging a bit. If not you can use an adapter.

Aspire,X-connect,Xazer are brands to avoid. Those poc psu's literally blow up.
