So, the Motherboard I just got (EVGA 680i) Has an 8pin 12v power connector but my power supply has just a 4pin. From the manual:

"It is STRONGLY recommended that you use an 8pin ATX 12v power supply; however if you have a 4pin power supply, plug the connector to pins 1, 2, 5 and 6 as shown."

My question is simple, will the 4pin work just fine for now....(e6600, 2 Gigs RAM, 8800GTX for now......2nd 8800GTX and new PS in a couple weeks).....or am I tempting fate to try this with just the 4pin?

I just used a 4 pin once and it worked fine, but the system didnt have a high powered PCI card in it.
