Will this work? A7N8X-E Dlx with Thunderbird?

Hi all, my first post here.

My current gaming machine mobo is on the way out (taking 5-7 min just to boot and running real slow) so I bought a A7N8X-E Deluxe from newegg it's on the way and wanted to use my 1.4g 266fsb Athlon T-Bird until I get the cash for a xp processor.

My question is simple, will I destroy the cpu or mobo by using them together? I assumed not but the more I think about it the more I question my own logic on the matter.

Any opinions or experiences would be most helpful.

Yes a T'bird will work; just remember to set theCPU_FSB jumper to pins 1&2; probably its there already, since it is the default. (page 2-15 of the user guide) Great choice for a mobo; I've never had a glitch with mine. It takes processors Duron/Athlon/ up to 3200+ XP.
