Will this upgrade work?

I have a midtower ATX case that I am thinking of adding the Asus A7N8X MB and AMD XP 2500 CPU to, plus two sticks of Kingston PC3200 Memory. I will add a HD that already runs Windows 2000. My question is when I turn all of this on will it continue to run Windows 2000 - in other words will the OS work and I can access the contents of the HD.

My final question is I have a 235 Watt Power Supply Unit. Besides the HD, MB, Memory and a 64 MB Radeon 9500 card and SB Value live! card and a Lite-on CDRW, will all these components work with the existing 235 Watt PSU?

What I am trying to do is upgrade as cheap as possible by avoiding an HD upgrade or buying another OS, using the same case and same video and sound cards. WIll this work?

Thanks, Tom

About the Windows 2000 issue you stated you can upgrade your board, CPU and memory and I'm sure Win2K will detect the changes and still work fine (some guys here would recommend a clean install though). At the very worst you have to reinstall Win2K but its unlikely you need to do that.
Anyway do yourself a favor and backup your important data before upgrading please.

But right now I'm having serious doubts about your 235W PS. I suggest a you do a PSU upgrade.

Windows 2000 should still work fine, it's not as picky as XP about motherboard changes. As for the power supply, probably not gonna cut it.
