.....and not allow the computer to boot?

I'm assembling a new computer.

I have just screwed an Asus M4A79XTD onto the standoffs in a CoolerMaster CM 690 case. The case has seven slot covers. All slots are empty at this time. The backside edge of the MB is touching every singlee one of the slot covers.

Is this computer going to boot ????

I don't understand what you mean by "slot covers", if you mean the rear expansion card covers, I don't see how your motherboard can be touching these.

Im guessing its the expansion covers.

and im going to say it will be fine as if its touching i can only see it touching the very side edge, as no circuits run along the outter rim of the board.

Yes, its the rear expansion card covers.

And yes, they indeed are all in contact with the backside edge of the MB. Lightly touching. I can push them away from contact with my finger.

I'm going to turn the computer on in a barebones configuration. PSU, MB, graphics card, monitor before I assemble it completely to save myself a lot of disassemby effort in case the computer does not work.

Have you tried loosening all the screws that secure the board to the case and seeing if the board can be biased away from the expansion covers?

The computer posted so it looks like I'm good to go.

Bill. The case does not use screws to secure the covers and the expansion cards. Instead it uses those plastic half-wheels that snap over the top of the covers and cards. In this CoolerMaster case the little slot in the case that the foot of the cover inserts into is way too wide. There's about a 1/8 inch gap in the slot that allows the cover to reach over and touch the MB edge.

But I think its gonna work.
