Will this Samsung Ram be good enough for me?

Hi, I just recently built the system in my sig, and due to OCZ memory incompatibility with my Asus P5B, I had to settle for somewhat generic DDR2-667 Samsung Ram Chip no. k4t51083qc-zce6, as the options were really limited at the store i bought this stuff.

Does anyone else currently use this stuff? I've tested it extensively with MEMTEST86, PRIME95, SUPERPI, and it hasnt crashed at all. Would it be worth it to maybe order some more expensive ddr2-800, or just settle with this stuff?

I dont plan to overclock, and I've heard the performance increase isnt that much to go to ddr2-800. The thing is, this memory isnt on the Asus QVL, I dont want ram that will cause me problems down the road.

Thanks for any info.

Since, it passes memtest and prime you are good to go. Also, since you are not OCing, the memory you have will work just fine and it will not cause you "problems down the road."

Ok thanks. I was a little worried about the ram too because of the way it was handled, the shop guy was carrying it around in his hand, and they didnt even give me an antistatic bag to put it in. So if the ram checks out now, it should be ok right? Any static damage should have manifested itself by now?

Well, you could turn your mem ratio up a bit to 667MHz to run the sticks at their rated speed. You would be surprised what my ram has been thru and its still swapping 0's and 1's like hell.

Annandtech did a test of DDR2 ram a couple of months back and the Samsung was as good or better than the other "name" brands. The fact is many of the upper end ram manufacturers use Samsung chips in their memory sticks.
