Will this RAM kit work with this workstation motherboard?

Keep in mind I'm new to the forum and only really know the basics of RAM and how it works. I'm not very familiar in terms of knowing compatibility.
In the near(ish) future, I plan to upgrade my current (given to me for free) PC with a Q9400, GTX 580, and a cheap (but adequate) motherboard for a (hopefully) pretty darn good price/performance used build. I came across an HP xw4600 Workstation motherboard. I think I'm being a little paranoid about RAM (its price is almost suspiciously low for DDR2 as well) from how a Youtube I watch talked about it being a pain to find the right RAM for his dual Xeon build a little while ago, but I figured it's probably fine if I made a thread just in case.

TLDR - Will this RAM kit work with this motherboard?

The MB supports "unbuffered, ECC" memory.
The 16GB kit linked is "buffered", aka registered, ECC memory.

Sorry...

That CPU is way too slow to be used with a motherboard that cannot overclock it, like the one you linked. Try to find yourself a decent S775 motherboard that can overclock, while having 8GB of RAM installed, like the later Asus boards. The Asus P5Q Pro was the most popular of the boards that was able to overclock while having four 2GB sticks of RAM installed. As popular as they were, they should not be too hard to find, I would think.

Okay, thanks for the answer. How will I know if it's unbuffered?

I never mentioned that I wanted to OC. It'd be a nice bonus, but it's not entirely necessary for what I'll be doing. I'm looking for cheap parts that'll at least be able to take at least 4x2GB RAM (it'd be nice if I could find that or better for cheap is all). Still, if you want to help in that department, do all "S775" motherboards work? For example, does this work?
I know that many older LGA775 motherboards won't work with C2Q CPUs and trying to google many of these motherboards' CPU support lists is an absolute nightmare. At least with that x38 motherboard I know it'll support the Q9400.
