They should. Will they? theres a strong possibility that they won't. OCZ Gold sticks have been having problems on both Intel and AMD platforms (more frequent on AM2 platforms). If you want to stick with OCZ, go for their value, vanilla, SOE, or Platinum sticks. NCIX.com has more choices, I believe.

Also, don't go with that board. Go with either the P5B-E, the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 or -S3, or the P5N-E SLI. The P5B can't overclock, and it would be such a waste to not overclock a Core2Duo, even just a tiny bit.

I can almost guarantee you they won't work together. I bought this P5B a couple months ago, and OCZ gold ddr2-800 wouldnt post, OCZ value pro ddr2-800 wouldn't post, and when i found OCZ value ddr2-667 that would post, it ran so crappy, everything crashed and was buggy, even after flashing the bios to latest.

The ram of choice for Asus P5B is Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800, from what I've researched, though the Samsung I use works great.

They should run just fine, if they don't then you need to email me.

There are no compatibility problems with any of OCZ's DDR2 and the P5B boards.

3 months ago, there were some issues, now none.

Thanks

i've just order a pair of OCZ2P800R22GK and ASUS P5B. System didn't make past post. Nothing on the screen, not even a beep. I RMA'ed the P5B. Now I am reading that most OCZ memory will not run default at 1.8v which is the setting P5B comes with. The solution is to start it with older types of memory and then change the voltage to 2.0.

Can you confirm whether this is true? I don't have extra memory around to test this and really like to isolate my problem. I hope its really a DOA MB.

Thanks,

While putting in cheapo ram and upping the voltage, and then putting the ocz in MIGHT work, there is a chance that the ocz will not run properly no matter what u do. Plus, whenever you flash the bios or have to reset it for some reason, you're going to have to find some cheap ram again to do it all over again. I had OCZ value on a P5B and it passed memtest, but corrupted everything in windows. Didn't matter what i put the voltage to.

If you really want to be on the safe side, see my reply above from a month ago, and get the Corsair XMS2 ddr2-800 cl5 that is tested and certified by Corsair to work correctly.

There is a chance the world will get hit by a comet and become cosmic dust....the OCZ rep himself said and I quote - They should run just fine, if they don't then you need to email me.

So as it turns out, the P5B board was DOA. The replacement came and POST without any issues. OCZ rep is right, no problem with the memory and P5 series boards from ASUS.

Thanks for all the help.
