Will this PSU be ok for my build?

Trying to tap the AnandTech forum knowledge, hope this is the right place.

I'm putting together a build this weekend and ordered the SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold PSU.

From everything I've read it should be more than enough for this build but I always like to double check. Here's what else I'm putting under the hood:

Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor

GPU: SAPPHIRERadeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400

OS Drive: Crucial M4 128GB SSD

Hello and welcome. Need answers to our standard quiz

Initial comments:

You could easily run 7850 Trifire off of that PSU... Even Quadfire would be below rated wattage. I think you overshot it if you really paid $140 for it.

Mobo: overpriced, check out Asrock Z77 Extreme4
CPU: $229 on NCIX, but 2500K for $200 is better bang for buck and overclocks better
Memory: unneeded, fast RAM isn't worth its price tag; here's some decent RAM for $45
GPU: with the above changes, you can afford a GTX 670 which is a lot faster
SSD : good but it costs $130, not $150

Ah thank you, very good information. I failed to mention that I didn't actually purchase all that hardware from Newegg, just used it as a reference link. I'm actually getting the 3570k CPU for $190 and the ASUS Z77 for $170 in a combo deal. So I'm guessing that $90 swing makes my build make a bit more sense.

Since this post I've done more reading on SSD's on tomshardware.com and actually switched my choice to a Samsung 830 128GB, which I can get for $145.

The RAM and GPU.. two of the only things I've already purchased so woops, may have made a mistake. I figured the high RAM speed helped make my machine a bit more future proof for an extra $50... and the GPU I figured I'd just SLI it with another once it's getting a bit old.

When I first posted in this thread I somehow thought it was in the General Hardware section... Anyway. Dont' get me wrong, 7850 2GB is a great card for the price and overclocks like mad. You won't be disappointed 🙂.

For 7850 crossfire OC'd, get PC P&C 600W for $57 AR AP. If you want to be future proofed for even more powerful GPU setups, grab the NZXT Hale82 750W for $90 AR

What is the case?
I just built with the seasonic in a p280 and the 8 pin CPU cable was a little short and had to run it in the front instead of the back.
