It will be powering-

Soltek SL-K8TPro-939
Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester
1 gig pc3200 DDR RAM
evga GeForce 6800 GT
Hitachi 120 GB SATA drive
DVD burner
Cd/DVD Rom drive
and 5 80mm case fans

I've heard lots of good things about Enermax. Is this a decent PSU for the money? I really don't want to spend more than ~$75, but I want to be sure I can get something stable and reliable.

Also, should I get a wire sleeving kit? Does it really improve airflow that much?

That's a good PSU, but I like Forton or Seasonic in that price range more. Anything 350+ watts will be plenty.

PS.

No a wire sleeving kit won't improve air flow.

It should be fine. Wire sleeving helps airflow in the case and of course looks if you case has a window.

I do not care too much about the looks, but temperature and noise on the other hand, is very important to me. This system is not yet built, because of the questions I have.

CASE http://www.blacknoise.de/shop/de_DE/pro..._IPC_4038_Server_Gehaeuse_schwarz.html The case will get 2x 80mm intake 38 m3/h @ 11 dB/A and 1x 120mm exhaust fan 65 m3/h @17dB/A from the same shop.
PSU http://www.yesico.de/products/p_fl550atxt.htm Yesico FL-550 ATX (T)
CPU cooler http://www.frozen-silicon.de/index.html...&blub=02348cd60f19382edbddbcde68cabd1e
MOBO: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, S939, nForce4, ATX
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2.2Ghz, 512Kb cache,S-939,Box 90nm
VID: Asus Extreme AX300TD 128Mb, DVI, TVout, PCI-E

I was hoping that the fanless CPU cooler could handle the heat of this particular CPU since some people can even cool a Prescott with this one as long as the exhaust fan is nearby. Since the fans will produce quite some airflow I assume that I can use a fanless PSU, not necessarily this one. The Yesico is ATX 2.0 and has good features but if theres anything else/better that can do the job I am open to suggestions.

Am I going the right way here? What would you change or add?

I'm not sure that you want to use that heatsink with that case unless you want to risk it. Also make sure the exhaust fan is working. ^_^

The Enermax is a good PSU but I think the XClio 450 (made by Channel Well same as most Antec) is the best value right now (< $60. shipped from newegg).

.bh.

Here, have a  !

Seasonic Super Tornado 350w is a highly rated, quiet and one of the most efficient (80%) power supplies available for under $60, plus it has Active PS

http://store.yahoo.com/directron/ss350fb.html

I have this in my sons PC:

A64 3000+ (939) Oc'ed a bit to 2ghz
8KNF-9
XP-90
1GB Mem
1x160gb HDD
6600GT
1x optical
4 x80mm case fans
1x 120mm exhaust fan

And at idle it draws around 110watts (measured with a Kill-A-Watt meter)

I've got one of those. VERY solid. 12.04v steady etc.

I like Fortrons too.

And, Welcome to the Forums!
