Will this processor help my computer performance?

Hi, new user, I love these forums. I just had a question. Although my pc isnt that new, I wanted to give it a performance boost.

This is my current pc - http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...t.jsp?objectID=c03143256&prodSeriesId=5187028

The best processor I could find compatible for my mobo is here - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0055Z...AC_SX110_SY165

I was wondering if the a8-3850 would improve the performance of my pc by a noticable amount and if it's worth it. I'll be playing a few non-graphically intensive games like league of legends and minecraft and i'll be multitasking as as well, like having multiple applications running, downloading, playing music etc...

I would think going from dual core to quad core would help a lot (multi tasking)
Plus the small bump in clock speed would help.
As for price/perf well I couldn't answer that for you.

I agree also, you would see a considerable improvement. Cpu performance of a "dual core" llano is pretty anemic. I would think a 3850 could handle minecraft and LoL at moderate settings.

I'm surprised they list the 100W APUs as supported.
That motherboard only has a 2+1 vrm setup amazingly budget.
Make sure you have good cooling in the vrm area.

I don't have any special cooling, it's just on my desk, not enclosed, is that good enough? I don't want anything overheating.
