Will this power supply work with my shuttle ak31a motherboard?

I'm unsure about which power supply to purchase since the ak31a motherboard is very picky about the power supply, and I came across this PSU in the hot deals section, the price is right for me, but I don't know if it will work with my ak31a board. So If you have this exact setup, or know anything about it, please share your advice. :)

I don't know where you heard the AK31A is picky about power supplies, I haven't found that to be the case at all after building dozens of machines around that board. Now if you had an ECS K7S5A, that's another story!

So the PSU in your link should work just fine with the Shuttle board. What CPU and other devices did you plan to use? That usually has a much bigger impact on the choice of power supply than the motherboard.

I think you were told wrong...that mobo is very stable and not finicky on the PS used

the CPU is kinda picky in that a low-power (or a low-quality high power) supply isn't going to have the wattage available to power it and hard drives and whatever other stuff you have.

I heard about the psu problems from this board and this one
there are many threads about ak31a not powering up, and most of them are power supply related.
I'll be running the following rig

athlon xp 1800
1 stick of crucial 256mb ddr ram
AGP geforce 2 mx 400 64mb
1 hard drive
1 DVD-ROM
1 floopy drive

thanks
