Will this PC work for me?

Hello I have been a console gamer for many years now playing on ps2, ps3, xbox, etc. I've finally decided to get into PC gaming for multiple reasons.

My PC budget is $1000 this is including OS and monitor. I'm also building my own PC for cost reasons of course. This is my initial build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3kfwnQ

I want the computer link above to...

last me 2-3 years.

Run all new games at high settings with at least 35 frames.

do minimal video editing nothing extreme (mostly rendering HD videos.)

If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments below. And if you have any different builds you recommend for around $1000-$1150 please leave a pc part picker link in a comment down below

THANKS 🙂 🙂 🙂

If you plan to OC that K-chip, you might want to fetch an aftermarket CPU cooler like a CoolerMaster 212 EVO or equivalent.

Unless you plan to add another GPU someday, you could easily drop the PSU down to a ~650w unit, probably less. I have a 750w PSU on my i5/GTX970 and it's complete overkill.

I would also try to find some way to add a 120GB SSD as your OS drive, or, depending on how big your game library is, DX the HDD altogether and get a suitable SSD for everything.

Build looks solid enough, you could save a few dollars shopping the sales (i.e. HDD, GPU, PSU.)

I really appreciate the feedback i dropped the 1 TB to 500gb and the 750w to 600w power supply and was then able to pick up a 120gb ssd drive.

Regarding the overclocking I'm going to pick one up later and just not overclock till i get one as $1100 is my maximum budget.

THANKS 🙂 🙂 🙂
