Will this motherboard work with a Celeron D 430 2.93ghz processor?

the celeron d 430 doesnt run at 2.93 ghz though, it runs at 1.8 ghz.

if you have a prescott based celeorn it should run in that board. if its the 1.8 ghz celeron D 430 then you will need a board that supports core 2 with bios updates (i have a celeron D 420 , and it did not work on my foxconn board until i did a bios update_

Good catch. I now think he meant Celeron D 340, which runs @ 2.93GHz, not 430!

If so, then according to the CPU support link, Celeron D 340 is indeed supported with BIOS A01 and higher.

PT88BSPRO-EC and PT88BSPRO use the same BIOS.

sorry yes it is the 340 sorry. what is the cheapest mobo I can get for it that is at least decent? Its to replace the mobo that burnt in my daughters emachine.

Well if its going into an eMachines T-Series chassis, a full ATX board won't fit, you need a Micro ATX board.

First, you should confirm whether it is Socket (PGA) 478 or Socket (LGA) 775, because the Celeron D 340 came in both packages. Most Celeron D 340s are Socket 478. If S478, here are two options:

Note that the P4VM890 does not have an AGP slot. It has a PCI Express x16 slot for graphics (and the crappy VIA UniChrome Pro IGP as well). I've purchased from GearXS before a few times with no complaints. YMMV
