Will this memory work on either a DFI ultra D or an Epox board?

I can get 4 512 sticks of this for free from work out of some HP systems we are upgrading to 4gb, it is crucial memory rebranded with HP logo and still carries the crucial stickers for part number identification....

here is the memory

http://www.crucial.com/store/MPartspecs...PARTY+UT+nF4+Ultra%2DD&WSPN=CT6464Z40B

I looked up the part on their site and compared to both boards and it said it was compatable however I have read that with the DFI at least some memory doesn't play nice...just wondering if this would work for the time being as it would save me some money that could be spent on other components...

Thanks

The memory will work fine in the DFI Ultra D motherboard. Unless I know which Epox motherboard you are looking at I will not be able to tell you. If the Epox motherboard takes DDR memory it will work fine though.

^ As he said, it depends on which Epox that you're talking about.

The Epox 9NPA Ultra +

Here is more info on the memory...

the Ram appears to be Crucial value ram with HP stickers on it, some people on the DFI street forums seemed to suggest that it might be suspect as it came from a system pull, but I am the one doing the pulling as I am retrofitting the HP Evo 7100 CMts with X700 256mb Radeons, 4gb value ram and 300gig Sata drives for Analysis workstations...so I get to keep the old memory and also that is how I landed my 6800gt video card as originally I ordered three of those for the workstations only to discover that they needed at least 350w power supplies and our 7100s had proprietary 340w units...sent the two unopened back and got to keep the open one for myself....

As for the memory though I really wonder if you think I would be best suited with the Epox board or the DFI?

The HP part number for the memory is 326668-051 which when I search comes up with:
HP 512MB 400Mhz PC3200
CL3 Non-ECC DDR SDRAM Dimm Memory Module
DC7100 DX6100 Business Desktop PC

The other part number on it is PC3200U-30331-A1 which when I do a search links to this info on Tom's Hardware guide:

Crucial Technology
PC3200U-30331-A1
MT8VDDT6464AG-40BC1
CCTAGA3013 200407
CT6464Z40B.8T
42545

I have read a few posts on DFI street.com and they have all said the .8T memory works well in the DFI board....

any info would be appreciated, thanks.
