Running 1024 of corsair value selectddr 400 ram, and over clocked my barton 2500 to 2.3 no probs, if i excahange the ram for some xms ddr memory will it make much of a differance or cas2.5 dual channel optimezed ddr kit?
1. MyIE2 has a good spell-checker built in.
2. CAS latencies make almost no difference in performance. Between 2-2-2-5 and 3-4-4-8 there was only about 2-4Fps performance difference. However in some applications Dual-Channel memory can make a difference. Those things beings said I would buy the 1GB 2.5CAS DC Memory kit.
I rarely look at people's signatures. But on a DC-Compatible AMD system you can see up to a 6% (or so) performance increase but this will be much more pronouced on an Intel system. This is because the theoretical bandwidth on a 400FSB Athlon is 3.2GB/s (so DC PC3200 memory equals 6.4GB/s of bandwidth) so it can't take advantage of all that extra bandwidth. However on an 800FSB P4 (which IS 6.4GB/s) all the bandwidth can be used.
I have that memory, it performs well and is stable. Plus, if you buy the DC kit it is somewhat future compatible. I used this memory without problems in an A7N8X-X untill the board croaked and I bought my NF7-S.
