Will this memory be adequate?

Hi all,

Ignoramus here.

Need a quick answer really. Buying a h/end gaming machine e.g. EVGA 122-CK-NF68 NF680i SLI, S775 + 8800 GTX. There are only certain options allowed.

Is this memory adequate. I don't envisage water cooling at any stage.

2Gb Corsair, DDR2-6400, 2x128Mx64, non-ECC, 240 DIMM, unbuffered, 4-4-4-12, E.P.P

Thanks

Ah, OK sorry,

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 S775, 2.67Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB

EVGA 122-CK-NF68 NF680i SLI, S775, PCI-E(x16), DDR2 1200/533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID,

Maybe overclocking at some point.

What motherboard ? Some motherboards are glitchy with ram. And since most OC's are not over 3.5-3.6 for that chip, you are probably OK, it will get you all the way to 4.0 ghz if the CPU would do it (which I doubt)

He just told you...it's an EVGA 680i and personally I do not ever recommend corsair memory because of their ability to put Micron ICs in the first revision and build interest then cheap out and put in Promos for the next revision of the same part. No thanks!

He edited hist post.... Motherboard wasn;t in it when I read it. And I would stick to OCZ I think

Technically, I think yes...And Corsair isn;t all that bad IMO.. Just opinion.
