I only mention Call of Duty so I can get an idea of how the graphics performance will be like. I have the laptop barebone coming with cpu and hdd in hand. Still need sodimm though. This is not a hardcore gaming laptop, but is meant for gaming without the eye candy. 800x600x32 or 640x480x32 is good enough for me.

ECS G551 Centrino Barebone
15" SXGA+ LCD
intel 855pm +ICH4
ati mobility 9000 w/64mb

1.3ghz pentium M
30gb ibm travelstar 4.2k rpm

I plan to get 2 256mb ddr sodimm, but is pc2100 good enough or will I see much better performance with pc2700?

is the memory on that graphics card shared or dedicated? i think some games won't run if it's shared video memory otherwise with the specs you got there it should run it with decent frame rates at 800 x 600.
