Will this help my temps?

Hey guys-

I was just wondering one thing. I currently have an AXP 2800+ Tbred with an SLK-800A and TT SMart Fan 2 connected to it. I have a pretty crappy case, I think it is a no name brand blowout sale special case. I currently only can fit one 80mm fan in there. Would upgrading to a Lian-Li PC65 case lower my temps? I have some spare NMB fans around to use and I think there are 4 spots. Should i get this case or would you guys suggest another one. Much thanks!

You have a very good HSF unit. A better case would not yield better temps. Couple degrees maybe, unless you have a REALLY crappy case.

the lian li pc-65 case you want to buy is around $150...
in my opinion, if you really want to lower your temps that much,
$125 can buy you a decent water cooling system here
and leave you with some spare change...

To start, what are your current temps. Like snik said, it is a good HS, so if you have bad case temps then that is likely to blame for high CPU temps. In that case then the Lian-Li might help a decent amount. Personally, I would go with a good air cooling set up before a cheap water cooling set up anyday for a non OCed machine. Just a lot less hassle.

Well, my cpu temps are as follows:

Idle: 42
Full load: 51

Full load temps were obtained by running P95 for 2 hours.

I know that this is a hot chip and all, but i think the airflow in my case is just atrocious. I think thats one of the problems.
