Will this heatsink fit this motherboard?

You might want to try the Motherboards or Cases/Cooling forums for the folks who do more of this stuff.

One of the NCIX comments says the following:

Just a heads up... If you are thinking about purchasing a EVGA SLI or non-SLI motherboard, be aware that there are several users on EVGA's forums complaining about the following:

- Memory instabilities
- HSF incompatibilities
- Temperature mis-readings.

A good friend of mine who received his EVGA Videocard/Motherboard bundle last week is very disappointed that he can't get his OCZ Rev2 memory to run stable on this board. Also, his XP90 heatsink won't fit without messy modifications. I ordered this mobo with the combo and should be expecting it shortly, thus I will let you know if I have any of the issues listed above.

(emphasis added)

I don't know how those coolers compare size-wise, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of room to spare around the CPU socket on that board, due to those power regulation capacitors.

I've been using my EVGA SLI mobo for 2 months and it's been treating me fine.

As for the memory, yes it's kinda picky, especially when you're overclocking. What I've heard is it doesn't like TCCD modules, but my OCZ 2x1GB performance works fine. To my knowledge, OCZ value and OCZ platinum also works fine too.

The temperature readings was fixed in the latest bios.

The mobo comes w/ a non-standard mobo backplate. It's a plastic plate held in with plastic pushpins. If your new HSF does not fit in a A64 HSF bracket, you'll need to get a HSF with it's own backplate (the zalman series) or get a K8 backplate (can be bought for $4 at jab-tech).

My plans are to get the OCZ value.. I'm concerned that any heatsink I try and plop on there is going to give me issues then... Would I be better off going with a DFI board and a seperate EVGA card? Oh and I plan on overclocking as Im getting a Opteron 165.
