Will this hard drive work in a mini?

I have never had a problem using third party drives in any Mac. And 'firmware modification' that might be taking place would happen when the disk is formatted and the OS is installed.
 
I already bought the hitachi and have not installed it yet.

I am nervous of this:

"Cons: Needed to install HDAPM to limit head load/unload - apparently an os x issue, not an issue with the drive because apple loads custom firmware on their drives. Apple does some firmware magic on MBP drives."
