will amd boards ever support "SLI" so i can run 2 geforce cards vs only stuck with 1

That's up to Nvidia and the mobo makers. Rumor has it that the 900-series, along with AM3+ Bulldozer, may support SLI, like the Intel boards do. They pay NV $5 per mobo to be able to support SLI.
