Will this Cingular/Amazon combo work?

I'm month to month right now. If I go in and sign a one year contract with Cingular, they are going to give me two phones. (Me and my father.) Just basic phones, no biggie. My dad doesn't need anything special, and I'll just ust it as a backup.

Then, if I buy a phone through Amazon (The Moto. Razr), and since I've signed a one year contract, I can send that in for my rebate.

Work? yes/no? Anyone?

Yes I am. The RAZR is no good? They also have a Blackberry phone they have been whoring for a while, but the data plans on Cingular are too much right now.

the data plan for cingular is 20 bucks Unlimited if you get "Media Works",

It's really not much detail. Amazon has these deals where you sign a Cingular contract, and get a free phone. And I'm month to month right now. So, I order from Amazon get the phone. Meanwhile, go to Cingular, activate a contract, and they give me two new phones. Mail the rebate in after I sign the contract.

That's it. I've called one or two Cingular CSR's, and they didn't know sh!t, so I was just hoping that someone here might have tried it before.
