Hello everyone,

I've never bought a graphics card from Newegg before, in fact, this will be the first time I've ever bought a graphics card brand new. I want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely. I've read plenty of times where people buy their cards when it's on sale, so do you think they will have a sale on this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814500277

Thanks

I'd love to, trust me, but I will be using this to play Bioshock Infinite on Ultra settings and that requires a 2GB version.

This won't be helpful, but...

A 650 can do that? At what res & framerate?

is 19x12 your resolution? 34fps average is going to spend a LOT of time in the low 20s fps wise. Everyone is different but for most that would not be an enjoyable experience.

Could you provide us with a budget and your current system spec and we may be able to help in a more fulfilling manner?

I don't understand, if it averages 34 FPS, why you'd think that?

The 99th percentile frame time is 45.2 ms from that review. At 34 FPS average you can expect 100 frames every 3 seconds, so a last percentile frame should happen on average 20 times every minute. These slow frames would feel like 22.1 FPS (1000 ms/S / 45.2 ms/Frame).

I always like to divide 1000 by the 99th percentile frame time to see the effective min framerate. If that is still above 30 FPS the game should be somewhat playable. If I had that card and was playing Bioshock Infinite, I wouldn't play on ultra. But I play a lot of games lower than max.

There's a reason that 2timer is going with the 650Ti, which is explained in his other thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2321463

2timer, to answer your question, it's hard to say, but generally, only a few 650Ti models have been put on sale over the past 6 months, including 1GB models from MSI and Galaxy. I have never seen the Zotac on sale.

Honestly, it's probably not going to go much lower than that - it's a legitimate gaming card with 2GB of VRAM, and people are willing to pay for that.

Yep....Kinda at least :)

Superbiiz carries Zotac cards and has the one you want for a little cheaper than neweggs price. They also have a 15% coupon code of HONOR15 currently. It's a $15 max limit on the coupon tho.

I've purchased from them in the past without issues.

Superbiiz.com doesn't seem to be IE friendly tho as it's spitting out a lot of errors. It's fine with Chrome tho....Go figure

Good call.

Looks like it's $143 shipped: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=ZT-650TI2G

-$15 coupon (HONOR15) brings it to $128. Great find!

Don't know about that particular card on Newegg, but you can purchase it for $16 less right now from Superbiiz. Use the promo code "HONOR15" at checkout (good through 5/27):

ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 2DVI/2HDMI
http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=ZT-650TI2G
$127.98 shipped

There's also a 2GB model from Asus for $5 less than the Zotac, if you don't mind rebates.

Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti OC 2GB GDDR5 VGA/2DVI/HDMI
http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=AS-650TO2G
$123.98 AR shipped

Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Edit: looks like others beat me to it.
