You will be fine 90% of the time.

Single player 1080p ultra 4x msaa or 1440p ultra no AA
Avg 60-90+ fps
Min 60+ mostly

MP
Avg 60-80 or so I think
Min 50+ 90-99% of the time
Though a 3770k can help a lot with mp ESP with min fps

Grab a 7970 for that price. Really, it's a rip off, you can get the WF 3 for less.
Or, save some more money and get a 7950 and overclock the hell out of it.

What's a 3770k? Should I get the 4GB version of the card in order to get better FPS and get i7?

There's so many damn card it's hard to pick one. I've heard not to go with AMD/Radeon. Nvidia is apparently better?

Man this is so confusing.... :(

A single monitor will be fine with the 2gb 670. I would not spend the extra for a 4gb 670 on a single gpu- single monitor gaming setup.

O.K. So I'll get the 2gb version but is it good? I don't mind paying a bit more for better but if I pay more I'd like to see better FPS by at least 30, not a mediocre 4-8 fps better.

This isn't my gaming monitor btw I'm going to get this one in a month:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2420...BMTU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1363975529&sr=8-2

The one I have now is going to be used for the X-box. So my PC gaming will be on the one I just listed above the BenQ. I might get the i7 and upgrade my memory to 16gb. Will that make any difference?

*chuckles* rumors about AMD cards being bad still

Right now; best bang for buck card is the 7950 - ave normal clocks its a hair behind the 670 and much; much cheaper.......

Once overclocked it beats 7970 easy and matches 680 and 7970 GE at stock speeds......when 7970 GE is overclocked to same level as 7950 its about 7% slower.....it matches 680 usually in OC also and about the same level.

http://www.ebuyer.com/461932-radeon-hd-7970-3gb-gddr5-pci-e-2xdvi-hdmi-dp-in-11197-11-40g

Much better card and cheaper;

http://www.ebuyer.com/454252-sapphi...-hdmi-displayport-pci-e-graphics-11196-19-20g

Again better card for less.......:)

Both will max things out....seriously you can get 7970 for cheaper than 670 and 670 can't touch it specially when its overclocked.

7950 boost card also again cheaper and when overclocked its faster....plus with the game bundles still going on AMD cards....if you don't want the games; sell them on ebay making the cards even cheaper......:)

Other than that.......good build;

if you want to future proof it grab an fx8320, multithreading seems to be getting a lot more popular with games, so get moar cores!!!

Thanks bro! But the thing is I don't know how to overclock and I can't find an overclocked version of the cards you listed..

1. Stay away from AMD processors, not AMD graphic cards.

2. I would pick a 7970 if I were you. You would get better performance with it. Although a 2gb 670 is more than enough for your requirement.

3. With a monitor such as yours (99.9% monitors out there), anything above 60 FPS will be nearly unnoticeable or extremely difficult to differentiate between. As long as you maintain 60 FPS 99% of the times, you are good to go.

4. If you have extra money, then replace your CPU with a 3770k Intel i7. The GPU won't matter whether it is 2gb or 4gb for BF3 at 1080p.

5. I would recommend 16gb since RAM is dirt cheap at the moment.

Overclocking is extremely easy - there are several subs on it; and all else just ask :)

soon as my money comes from selling my bit coins I'm picking up 7950.....they are the sweet spot right now.

That's why I linked the 7950 boost card; slightly higher stock Vs but they tend to overclock better :)

There is nothing wrong with AMD processors either; in lightly threaded programs yes they are slower than Intel processors; but not to the point you can't run anything.

There isn't a single program that you run on an Intel processor that can't be ran on AMD processor.......since most programs are moving multithreaded; AMD's are holding their own against Intel's; catching up to them; sometimes beating them.

Do they always? nope; but the landscape is changing. He would be happy with either.....

The 3570k is a very nice processor - is the 3770k worth another 50+ pounds? for a few % points.....no; its not....

Why needless push him to spend more money on something that's really not going to do anything for him?

With that 50 quid; along with the near 40 saved going with 7950 boost......

that's 128 gig ssd right there - which he WOULD see a massive difference in his build.......;)

Thanks bro, I will. I'll upgrade my CPU to i7 but I'll keep the ram at 8gb. More ram doesn't equate to better game performance, that's what I heard.

Thanks for the advice :)

O.k so now I won't get the i7 lol. Where can I find a 128 gig ssd? And I'll probably get the 7950 and hopefully try and overclock it.

Thanks man, stay blessed :)

Honestly James you don't need the I7 if you're going to be just gaming specially BF3 - you'll see a few % higher; but nothing majorly noticeable.....The I5 is a great processor....

As I said - far better putting that money into SSD you'll see a major performance boost ;)

I'll buy an SSD but please correct me if I'm wrong, which I likely am, but isn't the hard drive and SSD the same thing?

Or are they two totally different components? What benefit would the SSD give me?

Thanks! :):):):)

They are the same thing - but the HD you've put *which I'd still keep* the seek and write times; are much much slower as its a mechanical drive....

Where what I've put is a solid state drive.......you put the OS and the game you're playing on the SSD - and all other data goes on your normal HD :)

Oh I understand. So use the HD for normal stuff and then when I play BF3 I'll use it with the SSD? When I've built the PC then I'll ask how to do that or how to save it to the ssd, till then thanks bro. You've helped me loads. I'll go with the 7950 which is here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11...FBZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364303742&sr=8-1

Or is there a better brand of the 7950?

Oh and should I SLI any cards? What would be the best bang for the buck? Because I'm thinking about putting in two cards now instead of one.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364306675&sr=1-1
and oc'ing is the way to there are plenty of guides to help you overclock your system and trust me you'll love it once you start

you never mentioned a power supply and case but I think
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Ent...24?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364307089&sr=1-24
and
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CM-Storm-Sc...16?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364307277&sr=1-16
would do you well

and no sli

Oh snap, I just realized that I didn't provide the proper link for the PSU. Well here's the one I'm getting:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-HX1...1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364292808&sr=1-2

And the case (which I've already bought):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-Z11-...08L2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364309661&sr=8-1

So yeah. Thanks. I've been watching some BF3 benchmark tests and the best cards seem to be the REAL expensive ones :(
