Will this be a bait and switch?

Ultimately, I would not be at all surprised if McCain rides along with this pick for a few weeks or so, and then all of a sudden Palin has a change of heart and decides to resign from the VP slot due to concerns about her personal life (down syndrome baby, etc..) and McCain picks up another.

Pretty good way to dominate a few news cycles.

You couldn't post this conspiracy theory in the huge thread already discussing Palin?

Also, I'm guessing Palin resiging might be a bit of wishful thinking on your part.

No wishful thinking on this end. McCain went for the hail mary and I give it a 10% chance of succeeding. Otherwise, expect Harriet Myers redux.

It's actually her oldest daughter's baby, not her own.

Weird how her oldest daughter was taken out of school for 5 months at the end of Sarah Palin's supposed pregnancy, but Sarah didn't even appear pregnant in pictures 6-7 months into her pregnancy.

The press is already going full bore into vetting her.

You obviously are incapable of independent thought on this matter, because if you were, and you actually thought about wrote (actually, what you plagiarized from another website) you wrote you would realize you make no sense.

Do you even know why Harriet Myers was a bad choice for GWB's Supreme Court? It's because she was not a true conservative. That's not the issue with Palin-- she is about as conservative as you can get. The only valid comparision between the two of them is they are both women-- but what does that prove?

Ha ha!

You never fail to deliver the goods, my man.

You guys claim to not be worried about McCain's supposed light-weight VP candidate, yet you are pursuing fantasy stories that she really didn't give birth to her own son with down syndrome because someone on the Internet has a picture of her when she was six months pregnant and she didn't look "that pregnant"?!? And not only do you suspect this, but you claim this as a known fact?!?

You really are one sad and pathetic person...

please, for our collective sanity, get back on your meds and stop trolling.

even if it was true, who gives a shit?

If there's any truth at all to it, plenty of people will care.

I don't think it's a good thing, but the media would be all over it and plenty of people would be at home watching.

Edit: As for the original topic, I'm still astounded that she's on the ticket but I don't see them backing out at this point.

Ummm, this should be a relatively easy thing to verify, and therefore a very difficult thing to "cover up".

Her labor was induced in an Alaskan hospital, so there should be plenty of witnesses and evidence either way (nurses, doctors, hosptial admission records, doctor visit records, etc.)

I'll remain skeptical until I see the official seal on the birth certificate. Was it raised and embossed?

The baby was probably born in Pakistan.

This is pretty entertaining and maybe vicious unless it's true. It has the smell of a rove-like operation.

If it's true, it goes to her character - you know the thing repugs are always harping on.

Hard to imagine that the repug vetters would have missed this. They must be desparate - or voters are more superficial than I ever imagined.

This pick is so unbelievable I smelled something like a bait an switch at first, but am still trying to reason out the idea behind it and haven't come up with something that would warrant such a decision.

that she'd be willing to save her daughter some embarrassment and raise a disabled kid so that her daughter could live like a (relatively) normal teenager? what a positively vile woman.

Do you guys realize hwo pathetic and desperate you sound?

Analyzing photos of a woman because you think she really didn't give birth to a child with Down Syndrome?!?

Instead of attacking her for her positions and her stands, you have to dig and dig and hope that it really was their 17-year old daughter who gave birth to a child with Down syndrome and the Palin family not only managed to cover it up but got everyone in the hospital to notice notice the switch? Are you guys ignorant that odds alone would indicate the child is Sarah Palin's, as the risk for Down Sydrome dramatically increases with age of the mother?

She sures up the conservative base that has been leary of McCain. The evangelicos will love her for her strong pro life stance. The fiscal conservatives will love her for her cut wastefull spending and lower taxes.

Did you watch her speech today? That is the most energy I have seen at a McCain event ever. The major conservative talk radio hosts are in love with this move. The conservatives are going to open up their wallets to McCain now. I am waiting for Dobson to give his endorsement of the McCain/Palin ticket any day now. This move makes complete sense. Romney would of lost the evengelicos. Huckabee would of lost the fiscal conservatives. Palin is going to fire up the base I can't wait for next weeks convention.

I can't wait for her and McCain to win so we can start to drill for oil as a bridge to a future alternative.

You can't be this simple. If she could lie about this, what else could she lie about?
