will they ever come out with 8gb media for dvd burners?

I was wondering this, because my friend has a pioneer dvr-ao4 or something like that, and he said that the 4.7gb media is not enough. I was just wondering if they were ever going to increase the media size.
 
I doubt any large media that will play in a home DVD is coming anytime soon

Easy DVD copys are something the MPAA and other media slime will pay big $$$$ to prevent
