Will these laptops be enough for me?

No gaming, I've a PC for that if I ever want to do that. Just browsing, doing school work, talking and using as a temporary HTPC. I just want to use it to put movies/TV on my big LCDs until I build a dedicated HTPC. Will either of these do the job? It seems so, but if someone would be willing to chime in...that'd be great!

Either of those will be fine for what you want. It just comes down to CPU power and HDD space, the latter of which can be added quite cheaply. Basically it depends on how much you want to spend.
