Will Thermalright Ultra or Tuniq Tower fit in my old case?

I'm thinking of buying either the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme or the Tuniq Tower 120. My motherboard will be a Gigabyte P35-DS3 and I read that at least the Tuniq will fit on this board. The CPU will be a Intel Q6600.

My biggest concern though is if the coolers will fit in my case. I plan to reuse my old Noise Control big tower case from my old Pentium 4 computer. I measured that from my old Asus P4B motherboard I have a little more than 16 cm space to the case door but I have about 1 cm of noise absorbing carpet so I only have 15 cm if I don't remove some of the carpet around the cooler.

After reading the specs I can see that the ThermalRight Ultra 120 Heat Sink has a height of 160.5 mm without the fan so I guess it won't fit with a fan mounted. Also if it just barely fit, how well will it perform when the fan doesn't have any room to blow the air anywhere? The Tuniq tower has a height of 15.5 cm and you don't have to mount a fan on the top so I guess I will be able to fit that into my case if I remove some of the carpet.

I'm thinking maybe I have to buy a new case, but I really like my old one since it is very quiet. Are new cases generally wider than old ones? Suggestions of other coolers that will fit better are also welcomed.
