Will there ever be a time when we won't need guns?

IDK honestly. I'd like to think we as humanity would come to a point when we can trust each other. But there are a lot of things that need to happen before it can. My opinion? We would have to truly depend on each other for survival. Poverty would have to come to an end. No one could be seen above another or have more than someone else. This cannot be done by force though. It would have to come by way of some major catastrophe or even less likely by choice. No matter how much I would like us to go to the park and sing Kumbaya together it will take much more than wanting. It will take sacrifice of self for the greater good. Your thoughts?

We are a but a few years away from solving the gun issue. There won't even need to be any legislation. Cell phones whether they be in your hands, car, helmet, glasses will tell you everything you need to know about complete strangers walking by you on the sidewalk. Algorithms will calculate the likely hood that people are capable of killing people. What music they listen to, what orgnizations they belong to, purchase orders off of Amazon the past 10 years, what books, tattoos, etc..

Posted your machine gun on some message board the past 5 years? Gotcha motherfucker you're persona non grata. There will be 2 societies; normal working people and then there is the fringe element. Anyone willing to defend their 2nd amendment rights by actually using that right will wake up everyday having to defend themselves from the fearful masses that they aren't a villain. In the end they will fail, every day will be a new test in this new society where there is strength in weakness.

If gun guy is lucky, perhaps some states will be slow to adopt a more humane humanity. The gun is obsolete. After all the gun is not really a "right", its just another piece of technology to be cast aside on the dust bin of history.

I am an ape and a gun is like a banana. Once I get a banana I don't want to give it away. I got lots of guns, I have no idea how many. I don't look at them, I don't have them ready for self defense, I don't shoot, I just have them and I want it to stay that way. I am a gun owner and it's a mental state. There's no cure for it or bananas.

Even if it did get to that point, which it won't, do you really think being a gun owner will get people blacklisted in areas of the county where most people own guns?

If certain people actually saw they were constantly surrounded but legal gun owners they might never be able to leave their mothers basement again.

Name one. And when you find that mythical country be sure to substitute what ever other weapon people are using in place of firearms.

The answer to the OP is no. Until humans do not have to compete for resources then no, there is always going to be a need to have the ability to stop those that try to take from you.

As long as you have rapists, murderers, torturers, child molesters and people like them, we'll need honest citizens to be armed.

Sure, when humans develop a weapon that is more effective than a gun.

Like a cellphone that contains a powerful laser beam.

Until infinite world peace, there will always be a need for guns.

Infinite world peace will not happen.

Better chance for michael jackson to be reborn as an asian female, and that he wins the lottery at the same moment that is struck by lightning as a meteor hits the planet causing a tailspin into the planet Mars. than for infinite world peace to even have a glimmer of hope.

Did you see the story of the National Weather Service buying hollow points?

http://www.infowars.com/national-weather-service-follows-dhs-in-huge-ammo-purchase/

Who does DHS intend to fight with 450 million rounds of .40-caliber ammunition??? o_O

DHS has 200,000 employees, that means each one of them gets 2250 rounds apiece, including paper pushers, secretaries and janitors.

Realistically, only about 10 percent of DHS staff would even be qualified, much less authorized to carry a weapon. That means those lucky individuals will get 22,500 rounds apiece. Assuming they might use 1,000 rounds a year for annual range use and qualification, that leaves 21,500 pistol caliber rounds apiece with which to wreak havoc.

Do they have some sort of idea that the Chinese are going to invade the US?

Or do they think they will be holding down a domestic insurrection of a type that has never occurred in history, to include the Civil War?

And why .40 cal? That is a pistol round that would leave the poor DHS agent outgunned by anyone with a rifle, or even a shotgun.

The war on mother nature has escalated!

Believe it or not some people still hunt for food. A gun is just a weapon. A baseball bat, a hatchet and a kitchen knife and an ice pick can all kill you just as dead. The Jews thought they did not need guns, and look what happened to them???

South Korea. I lived there until late 90's and even the police did not carry guns. No one outside the military was allowed to carry guns. Streets were safe and no one worried about their kids getting hit on the street (except by their peers).

Weapon of choice by criminals: Usually kitchen knives, baseball bats, or simply physical force by outnumbering victims.
