Will there be more PS2s available after the new year?

I want to get a PS2 today from "someplace" but my parents put the smack down saying that we aren't because we just got a pool table and to take this one step at a time (we are improving our basement).

(BTW, I was willing to pay half...it's not like they won't use it for DVDs and maybe I'll teach my dad how to play Madden 2001, we played a football game back on the old NES together. )

Anyway, will the supply of Playstation2's improve after the new year?

I really want to get one before GT3 comes out (Jan. 17)!

nope these are limited edition there will be no more made after 12/31/00. Im serious if you look at the bottom of them they are each individually numberes for authenticity

No supposedly there will be tons of them next month so I doubt you have to worry

I think even now the supply has ramped up massively. I live in a moderate-sized city in Canada and on my 3rd call (to a zellers) found one. They had received 4 that day and had 3 left. This was a few nights ago. Last night a friend called up the same place and they had just received 5-7 units, all for the taking. I was in Sony store today and for retail standard price they were offering them; I'm not sure they had them in stock but they had a display unit and no mention of being sold out.

Somehow I think Sony is going to fill more of the Xmas demand than was originally thought it would be able to...

BTW, where did you hear that the availability will be better next month? I really hope it's true!

I heard that too, its a rumor I think...but I would be really surprised if even a moderately small amount of effort fails to bring you a PS2 in the new year prior to the launch of GT3.

Theyve stated from the beginning of the "crisis" that they would be producing 100g's of them a month or a week I dont remember which until x-mas, plus yeah theres a rumor goin around that they are releasing like 1 million next month but i seriously doubt that many but Im sure they will meet the demand, if not wait till after x-mas they will be every where
