Will the Zalman Alcu fits my Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR?

Anyone here who have a Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR (Socket 754) mobo, and successfully install the Zalman Alcu? I'm running a stock HFS/fan right now with Arctic Silver 5, and the Soltek HM show that mine is run at 45c idle (same one on the BIOS). Speedfans show that mine is 37c idle. I don't know which to trust though. I even try to use Everest or Aida32, but both of them don't list my CPU temp.

Anyone, I'm not going to Overclock my CPU. So should I live with the fact that the CPu run at mid 40s, or should I get a better cooling? Thanks

Yes. I have one and it works fine. You just have to replace the backplate with the one included with the zalman. It's also pretty hard to hook the sata cables in with the video card in, so you might want to have it out of the case while doing so. I also wouldn't trust the soltek hardware monitor. A lot of people seem to be getting bad temps with that program. The zalman did however lower my temp from 50 to 48.

Oh my, only bring down 2c on your? Maybe I'm not going to get it then since it not that big differences...thanks

I too would not trust the Soltek CPU temp readings. It hardly changes even under stress. And for some reason, my CPU temps increase when the CPU Voltage is at 1.09V (under CnQ). And will decrease when the it is at 1.50V (under stress or CnQ off)

Only real way to judge is to compare system temps.

I was planning on buying the Zalman HSF too. Glad to know it'll fit. I was a little worried since the Soltek board has its capacitors very close to the Socket 754. Damn, I needa replace the backplate? That requires me to take out the mobo outta my case...

I was about to get the Zalman as well, but now I'm going to Thermaltake Venus 12 instead. Zalman is just too big. Once it install, my bet is that the Heatsink would sit fairly next to the video card. Also, the SATA cable.....no..

Btw...is the ZALMAN CNPS7000B will fit into the Soltek mobo?

*doh* I forgot that our board support up to 4 SATA port. Anyway, are you going to get the Zalman Alcu B?

I'm not sure... Haven't made my decision yet.
It's between the
*Zalman 7000A-AlCu
*Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC
*Scythe Samurai

I'm leaning towards the Arctic Cooling model right now. It is thermally controlled between 1000-2500RPM. It's supposed rating is 18-46 CFM and NCIX says that its dBA rating is 12-23dBA. the offficial Arctic Cooling site rates the noise at 0.4 1.5 Sone. I have no idea what "Sone" is...

No man, if you get the Zalman, make sure you get the B version. I think I'm going to get one for my hot temp CPU....
