So, if I get a PS2 now, think I can sell it for $200 when X-Box comes out?

Doubt it, when the Xbox comes out, my feeling is there will be a sudden flood of used PS2's for sale on the market. heh

I cant wait to get an x-box. I wonder, being that the xbox is basically a scaled down PC, if someone will make a playstion emu for it. Gotta love the PC flexability. :)

How is anything supposed to compete against the XBox. The specs are better then most home users PC's.

right, it is based around most pcs... thats better than a lot of home users right now... but thats also whats going to bite it in the ass...

The reason why the original playstation was able to stay around so long, was because it was such a well setup hardware basis. It had its own style of processor and it was perfect. it wasnt ment to be upgraded, but it was so easily manipulated that it could stay in the game... do you really think the xbox has this much flexibility when compared to the pc market?

No it doesnt. And its going to bite microsoft in the butt...

i doubt the playstation stayed around for such a long time just because of its harware setup. first of all, sega and nintendo didn't put out anything good when the ps1 was out. saturn failed, and n64 was too kiddy-oriented. second, the playstation had a big library, it was easy to develop games, unlike the saturn. thirdly, games could be pirated. games could have easily been downloaded or burnt.

The Nintendo Gamecube uses small dvd type media that can hold around 1 gig I think. It cannot play DVD.

Seeing as that more than 60% of X-Box's titles are probably gonna end up on a PC, I have no reason to buy a X-Box. I probably will though if there comes a title that looks good.

PS2 won't just dissapear just cause of some X-Box. In the U.S. the X-Box might reign supreme, but doubt it for Japan.

you will need to buy a remote/driver setup this allows MSFT to avoid paying 20 bucks licsensing fees w/ every system.
