Will the USA PS3 work in the UK?

Can it play PAL games? as i know the USA uses NTSC rather than PAL.

What about the power connectors? We have a 3 prong thing in the UK, i gather the USA dosent have the same one, and uses a lower wattage too.

There are a few problems...
first, the power connector is different between the US and PAL territories iirc. It's what, 220/240v in Europe, right? US uses 110/120v.
Also, BD games for the US are Region 1. I don't know the region number for PAL territories, but I know Japan uses Region 1 for BD as well. This is different from the DVD-based games, because while the US PS3 can play imported Japanese PS3 games, it, like the PS2 before it, cannot play Japanese PS2/1 games.

Aha thanks, i just saw a really cheap PS3 on ebay, it said it was the US version with the built in PS2 chip etc, think ill give it a miss though.

BD games are not region locked AFAIK, but BD movies are. Also I have no idea if the PSU in the US version does multi voltage, as destrekor mentioned.

IMHO it's not worth it when a new PS3 is £299.
